I'd Rather Wear Out...

Make Someone's Day

Than Rust Out.     -Dan Rather

I was recently cleaning my bedroom when I noticed a container of body butter that I had purchased last year in Seattle at the Pike Place Market. It smelled exactly like lilac! I loved this stuff. So, over the past 18 months, I used it very sparingly because I didn't want it to run out. After I was done cleaning, I opened the container to put some on and to my dismay, it had something odd growing inside. It was made with all natural ingredients and apparently was not designed to not be used. I was bummed. It reminded me of all the other things that I have in my house that I'm not using that are going to waste; things that someone else would be happy to use. All too often we hold on to things that we know we're not going to use, but there's always that 'just in case' scenario in our head. It's better to use something than to simply store it longterm and withhold the opportunity for someone else to use it and love it. If you're not interacting with your possessions, it's time to start or to pass them on. As the saying goes "Use it or lose it!"

Here is the question:

What would it take for you to release your "someday" items in order to improve someone's today?
