Run, Polly, Run!

February 13, 2011

I love to run. I was in track when I was a kid and I always enjoyed running, especially around my neighborhood at night. I've never had the urge to get crazy about it and undertake a marathon but nothing feels quite like it.

About 10 years ago I had given it up due to some issues I was having with my joints, including those in my toes. I found other ways to exercise that I enjoyed, rollerblading mostly, and considerend my running days over.

Recently I signed up for a bootcamp exercise class. The class is awesome and I love the suspension training on the TRX. But what I didn't expect was to rediscover running. Linda Mitchell, the instructor, is also a POSE certified running coach. She has helped me improve my form and much to my surprise I am back running again without pain. I love the zone I get into when I've been going for about half a mile. Usually I only go about 1.5 miles tops. I'm grateful to be able to run again and can't wait to get outside once the weather warms up!
