It's easy to look around at the frustrating and challenging life circumstances we may currently be experiencing and try to figure out how we got there.  We tend to think that if we could just get to the bottom of it; if we could just figure out why things are how they are, then we could do something to change them. Even though we are a compilation of all sorts of experiences and beliefs and influences, I recently discovered a woman on YouTube (I listen to A LOT of material on YouTube!), Marisa Peer, who believes she has figured out what that foundational reason is for the things that feel 'off' in our lives. It is three little words that explain why we are living lives that are less than what we had hoped for: I'm not enough. No matter what our unique experiences are, this one belief seems to be present in all of us to one degree or another. It may sound simplistic, but if you can remind yourself that you are enough on a daily basis, it can transform your life. Posting it on a mirror and reading it every day is a great place to start.
 
Here's a talk she gave that has been very helpful for me and the others I've shared it with. It's a bit long (just over 42 minutes) but it's well worth it.
