Is Your Clutter Gestating?

...Or Is It Junk?

This is my original pair of hiking boots that I bought 30 years ago. I hiked many miles in them. When it came time to get a new pair, I decided to keep these and turn them into planters. That was 20 years ago. I have moved with them 3 times.  I have no idea why it took me so long to get around to actually buying plants for them. It just did. The gestation period on creative ideas can be a few minutes, days, months or years. Now, I realize that this idea is great fodder for those who want to keep everything because they might need it some day. But here's a way that you can more easily decide if clutter can actually be released: Do you have a specific purpose in mind for it?  I knew from the very beginning that these boots would one day hold dirt and flowers. I didn't hold on to them hoping I'd figure out something to do with them. And that's the difference. As you look at a cluttered space and begin to go through what's there, ask yourself:
Here is the Question:
What specific purpose do I have for keeping this?
