Make the Holidays Enjoyable to you!
...Christmas is coming

Over the past month, we've been looking at some pre-holiday topics such as clearing the dining room/kitchen table, Christmas decorations and how to pay for the holiday season. Hopefully, you're feeling better about these areas.

It can be easy to get caught up in the madness of the season and the belief that we have to make the season fun for everyone else. This week I'm encouraging you to take a little time and think about how you feel about the activities of the season: sending Christmas cards, wrapping gifts, entertaining, shopping. Are they enjoyable for you? For me, I love sending Christmas cards because it's a nice way to reach out to people and also because it's the only holiday-related activity that my husband enjoys helping with. But, I don't enjoy wrapping gifts. That's why I invite my best friend over.  Not only does she enjoy wrapping, but it's a great opportunity to spend some time together. The weight of tradition can be difficult to shift, but our peace of mind is worth the effort. There are an infinite number of ways of doing anything so if you enjoy your current holiday activities, let the fun begin! But if you're feeling any amount of stress or dread about the upcoming season, take some time to pinpoint why and figure out how you would rather participate this year.

If you're thinking about changing any significant traditions this year, here's an article that offers some support.

Here is the question:

What needs to happen in order for you to have a fun and relaxed holiday season?
